Minutes of the 2008 Annual General Meeting.

7th March 2008 Mount Batten Lounge R.B.L. Margate. S/M. H.Allen in the Chair

Chairman’s Welcome
The Chairman S/M Harry Allen welcomed all to the AGM

Opening.
The meeting opened at 20:00 with a silent tribute for those S/M’s that had crossed the bar. In the past 12 months they include S/M’s Bob Fyles, Sid Waller, Eric Stone, and Harry Peto.

Minutes.
The minutes of the 2007 AGM meeting were read: These were Proposed by S/M Berni Taft and seconded by S/M Sid Jones.

Matters arising
There were no matters arising and the minutes were signed as a true copy.

Treasurer’s Report.
The 2007 financial statement was given by S/M Francis Empson Income over expenditure was £167-48 giving a year-end balance of £1200-31. The treasurer stated that our branch raffles were our main source of income and last year generated over £500. He also thanked the chairman and secretary for their help in easing him into the Job. The report was accepted and proposed by S/M John Bell and seconded by S/M Ron Pittway.

Branch Report for 2007
The secretary then read a report on a break down of the years events; highlights were the trip to Chatham Veterans Day, the two dinners held at the Swan Westgate. The Trafalgar Day parade with the Dutch standards joining us, and our support to T/S Jamaica that totalled over £500.
The report was well received and accepted and proposed by S/M Geoff Humphrey and seconded by S/M Chris Cesana.

Election of officers, committee and auditors.

At a show of hands this was agreed and all were elected on bloc.

The AGM was then closed at 20:15 and continued with the monthly meeting.
